Decent place. Rooms were spacious, beds were ok. Walls are thin so you can hear everything from the other room. We had a lady yelling on the phone until 12am in the room next door. Check-in was slow as the lady was new and did not have full knowledge of what to do.

The hotel is located a short distance from major highways. It is also within walking distance from some stores and restaurants. The lobby area is pretty and comfortable. The rooms are clean. The views from the rooms can be amazing. There are refrigerators in the rooms but no microwaves. Our room was large but the furniture was awkwardly placed and it was unsettling. There is a guest laundry and a small but well appointed fitness room. There is a parking fee of $15 per day.

A fine establishment. Closer to DC would be ideal, also not by a highway. I prefer buffet breakfast, more classy. Overall a good experience. Take this review heavily because it comes from me, someone of very high caliber.

Perfect location to stay and visit DC. Nice rooms. Bistro downstairs had decent bar food. Friendly staff. No room service, which was okay. Needed trash emptied and more coffee and cups. Metro station across the street...about 5 minutes walk.

I first have to commend the staff. I am traveling the country for the month of November celebrating my 50th birthday. I have stayed in several Marriott properties the last 13 years & this by far has been the best! I did an extended stay from the 9th-17th. I was upgraded to the 7th floor w a balcony which had a decent view, esp at night. First thing I noticed after settling in was the shower pressure & water temp. The shower head had very strong pressure & the temp was hot! The HVAC unit worked as designed & cycled regularly & kept the temperature spot on. I did have an adjoining room (as the door on the inside) but no one was next door the entire time. The one downside about the room was the mattress. It's not bad but not good either. Now on to the best part of my stay.....the staff. Mariah, Zahra, Vandella, Micha, Cherie & the Assistant General Manager (AGM) Lakeyva are the friendliest group of personnel I have encountered throughout hotel stays. I have never taken a subway so their knowledge of the train made my stay less stressful. I was also looking for hole in the wall places to eat. Needless to say I was not disappointed on ANY spot that was mentioned. They all went out of their way to assist me throughout the 7+ days I was here. If anyone from corporate reads this, this locations staff deserves a raise or a bonus. I was always treated kindly, with a smile & respect. I was able to have conversations with them in the evening times after returning from site seeing what I had planned each day. Thank you Courtyard by Marriot Alexandria Old Town/Southwest for making my stay the BEST EVER!

Pros: Comfortable clean room, great water pressure in shower, AC worked amazing, bed was a little firm for my liking but comfortable and clean. They actually have duvets (unlike most hotels that just have sheets), friendly staff, adequate parking, a designated smoking section clearly marked. Quiet. Cons: None really. It was exactly what we paid for.

Right next to highway, very easy to get around metro DC area or National Harbor. But also traffic noise while sleeping. Room was very spacious and clean. Bed was amazing. Restaurant/ bar in lobby was expensive, but food was good.
